So I have a secret. I don’t really shop. I know, I know. What fashion blogger doesn’t shop?
Like being a vegetarian, I’m not a shop-a-holic for a number of reasons. Top two: I’m broke and I’m busy (welcome to college, friends). A close third is that I learned about the environmental impact of fashion last year and still haven’t fully worked through my feelings on the subject.
I also believe in style over fashion; while I incorporate trends into my looks, I would never describe myself as trendy. I wear what I love and what I feel confident in, which changes over time but always reflects my personality.
Regardless of my generally shop-less ways, my wardrobe can hardly be described as “minimal.” I have a lot of clothing, but I find myself reaching for the same things over and over again. To keep things fresh, I like to play around with garments and have fun with layers. This kind of creativity is the key to both packing light and maintaining a capsule wardrobe.
Basically, this is a how-to video for the two things I’m worst at: small wardrobes and light suitcases.
With one dress as a base, here are three distinct looks for every occasion. One last secret: my basic black dress is actually a nightgown (so does that make it four outfits?).
